Musician & Filmmaker
I am Luis F.Fernandes.
Luis is a lusophone artist of French origin, filmmaker and creative drum musician, works mostly the time with music improvisation, sound composition for media and contemporary dance and on the world music field, with traditional music from Portugal and the world.

He teaches multimedia on training courses for the IEFP (Portuguese Institute of Employment and Training), is graduated on Psychology, Art Therapy and on Documentary Film. He received in 2020 an honorable mention with his short film "Let sounds be themselves" at Meihodo International Youth Visual Media Festival, in 2016, he was awarded for Best Editing Film at Figueira Film Art Festival, Portugal, with his doc. “In the Moment”, in 2015, he receives a Honor Mention at the Videodanza International Contest "Videomovimiento 2015", in Bogotá, Colombia, with is dance film “REBIRDS”. A public award at the 1st video-dance exhibition “Body In Focus”, Porto. Portugal. With his video dance "A`Mar". In 2013, awarded for Best Portuguese Director in the 5th edition of the InShadow - International Video Festival, Performance and Technologies, Portugal. In 2013, he awarded with the 2nd prize, on the category for best 2013 musical documentary, by the MUSICLIP - International Festival of Music, Audiovisual Arts and Music Video of Barcelona, with his film, “48Hz Sound Interference's”.
With more than 25 years of music experience, he began is musical journey in his youth with friends, creating a music band that played Trash Metal, Hard Core and Hip Hop music, called "Rotten Minds". After 2000, he began to collaborate with several world music projects, highlighting; Lupanar, Bicho de 7 Cabeças, Genito Rasta, Velha Gaiteira, DedoMindinho, Pelê & Fole, Trabucos, Uxukalhos, Traditional Percussion Orchestra - Gigabombos, Cantos do Mar, Ald`Será, the Bangladesh Musician KM Anwar Mostafá, the Bagpipe Lisbon Orchestra and so on. In 2003 he created the Experimental music company DOOLE and CACO in 2014 and since 2001 he is involved as an sound performer and composer on interdisciplinary artistic projects, specially dance and visual performance, where we highlight the work with the "Inestética Theater Company", "Panda Pá Clown Project", "Amalgam Dance Company", the storytelling project "POKA POKANI" de Margarida Botelho, "COMPOTA", an interdisciplinary art performative project lead by the choreographer Paula Pinto, the Performance "Preta" from Giovannin Lourenço, the "Poros", "The Cave" & "Body Lost" dance projects from MADRASTA DANCE COMPANY, the dance project "DEN.TRO" by Maria Fonseca, produced by Uterus Association and in contact improvisation sessions.

He organized the 1º (Ed.) of the Sound Art Festival "AURAL" from Glocalmusic, Directed a documentary film about an Art and Social Inclusion project, called "So Far So Near", he is responsible, aside with he`s friend and colleague Luis Rodrigues, for the bird of the Inclusive Indifferent Theater Company, works with Erasmus + program and he is an artist in residency at the transnational project "PANG - Performing Arts for Next Generation. Instruction to fight the doomsday" supported by Creative Europe and Artistic Director from the Madrasta Dance Company.
